Angel Leigh McCoy : Profile

December 22, 2008

mccoy150x150Angel Leigh McCoy has served her fellow lovers of speculative fiction as managing editor and producer of Wily Writers since 2008.

Despite her name—or perhaps because of it—Angel is drawn to the darker side of fiction. In her own writing, she delves into the mystical and mysterious. Her fiction first appeared in sourcebooks for White Wolf’s World of Darkness and has since appeared in more than a dozen anthologies, magazines, and e-zines including RAVENS IN THE LIBRARY and VILE THINGS by Comet Press.

Her fiction has appeared in numerous media, and in 2011, her novelette “Charlie Darwin, or the Trine of 1809″ was released by Nevermet Press. She also had stories appear in Strange Aeons, Necrotic Tissue, Beast Within 2, Fear of the Dark, and Growing Dread: Biopunk Visions, among others.

In 2012, she received an honorable mention from Ellen Datlow in the Best Horror of the Year, volume 4, for her story “Crack o’Doom”.

During the day, she is a narrative designer at ArenaNet, where she is part of a vast team effort to make the coolest MMOG (video game) ever: Guild Wars 2.

You can check out her latest projects on her website.
